The Villages of the Nantlle Valley

Drws y Coed

Drws y Coed is an area in the upper parts of the Nantlle Valley. The word 'coed' meaning trees, refers to the abundance of trees that once thrived here.

By today the trees have gone, but there remains a reminder of their presence in the area as they have left their mark on the landscape.

The area was once famous for its wealth of metals - copper in particular, but also iron, lead, crystals and a little silver and gold.
